Build Traffic to the Site

Monetize and Make Money - Even personal websites can make money for the site owner. Monitor and Maintain your site
Many people start to build a website by choosing a domain name and web host and then decide on the website design, and in particular, the website building approach.
There are many different ways of building a website and there is no single best way.
It is also important to note that this doesn't just affect those who opt to build it themselves, it is also important for those who are having their site built for them.

Why? Well, a web designer who is Good with Dreamweaver will think that all his clients need a hand-built site. One who likes Joomla will build them as Content Management sites... These may not be the ideal choice for his clients.

The building is Only the Start
It is important to note that a website is probably never finished. So what happens if the site needs changing? Who is going to do it, and how difficult is it to do.
What if it requires extra functionality? Is it possible with the chosen design method, and again how difficult is it to do?
Static or Dynamic Sites

Static ones are HTML or more commonly Today HTML/CSS. These sites are very easy to build (There are many templates available) and are simply edited using a web page editor, and are supported on all hosts.

They lack functionality e.g. How to implement a poll, comments, etc. How do you change the navigation on all the web pages?

Dynamic Ones use some form of scripting (e.g. PHP, ASP) is very flexible,   and allows for advanced features. They are however difficult for the novice to understand.

Generally, small sites (<20) with limited functionality can use static sites. The larger the site (regardless of extra functionality) the more dynamic sites are better.

So you really need to have an idea of Roughly How big your site will be
What functionality will be required
Take for example a restaurant website. The owner elects for a simple 5-page brochure site. With just an Introduction home page a map, directions, contact, the menu, and prices.

Simple enough a static HTML site... But he finds that he is getting lots of people visiting his site and decides to implement an
online booking. He would also like to issue special coupons and run a monthly prize draw.

This is going to require some form of programming. But does his package support it? How easy is it to implement? Who is going to do it?

How websites are Built

First, it is important to understand that all websites are built from a site template. This is the first web page that is created and it is the starting point for all of your web pages.

Therefore the first step is to decide on what type of site template you are going to be using.

Using a Designer
If you pay a web designer for a site you will get a few standard web pages like home, contact, Privacy policy, etc, all created using a page template.

This template may be one that the web designer has built him/herself from scratch or maybe a free or commercial template that they have modified.

The same considerations apply when you make your own site. You can design the site template yourself or you can obtain one and modify it as necessary.

Self Built Templates

If you design your own you have far more flexibility but far more work, and you require not only design flair but also technical knowledge.

Even though I have done it several times I wouldn't recommend this approach, as unless you have an eye for design it is very difficult to get a professional-looking site.

Pre-Built Templates

There are many sources of high-quality professional pre-built templates both free and commercial. For a normal
small business website then you should easily find a suitable one for a free or low cost.

The problem with them is that they will require modification and may require software tools to edit properly.

Therefore I always recommend that you choose a simple HTML/CSS template.

They are an ideal choice for small websites (1-20) pages that will be fairly static. However, if you think that you will be adding new features to the site (like feedback forms, newsletters, comments, etc) then you should start thinking of using a Content Management type system like
WordPress:

Site build-it or WordPress

A Guide to Hosting a Website

PHP, Cpanel, Multiple Domains, Packages, Linux

The most common type of hosting for personal and
small business websites is shared web hosting, and there are 100s of shared website hosting providers to choose from.

However, choosing a provider and website hosting package from the many thousands of offers can be extremely confusing. The object is not to choose the cheapest, or the one with the most features, but the best hosting for your needs.

The problem for those that a new to building websites is to determine what it is that they need exactly.

Although small business and personal websites generally have very basic requirements there are still one or two important points to consider.

Hosting on Linux or Microsoft Servers

All hosting providers offer both Linux and Windows server hosting options. Unless you intend to use a software package or tools that require Windows then you should choose Linux.

Linux hosting provides support for PHP scripts and MYSQL databases, which is required if you want to use any of the popular blogging/content management systems like WordPress, Joomla, and a host of other excellent open-source packages.

FrontPage Server Extensions

FrontPage is a popular web building software package and it has support for web components that provide fancy features but require FrontPage server extensions. I don't recommend you use FrontPage server extensions, and if you follow that advice your server doesn't need to support them.

However, they are supported on both Linux and Microsoft servers.

PHP and ASP Scripting

Both scripting languages are used to provide enhanced functionality.

PHP is my preferred choice and there are thousands of free open source applications that require it. It is only supported on Linux/Unix servers.

ASP (active server pages) is the Microsoft equivalent of PHP and requires windows servers.

Website Hosting Providers

There are many hosting providers on the Internet but you may save yourself some time by taking a look at the ones below:

Blue Host Web Hosting - $6.95/mo! - the USA-based Professional website hosting. Incredible feature-rich package including WordPress, Joomla, Cpanel admin, and Fantastico scripts. Supports multiple domains. Includes free domain name.

1&1 -UK- various package levels support multiple domains. Free UK domain names depending on the package.

Site Build-it- This is a totally different solution as it is a complete website building, hosting, promotion package.

Shared Hosting Costs

Shared hosting is relatively inexpensive starting at about $7 per month, making it affordable even for personal websites and incredibly cheap for business sites. Hosting is generally cheaper in North America than in the UK/Europe, however just because it is cheaper it doesn't mean that it is the right choice for you. Please read website hosting and Location for more details.

Website Hosting and Domain Names

Although not strictly speaking necessary I would recommend you use the hosting provider for the web hosting and for the domain name especially as most provide a free domain name with the hosting package.

You can find out how they are related to Website Hosting and Domain names

Choosing from a Hosting Package

Some hosting providers provide several service package levels e.g.

Basic

Business

Professional

Ecommerce (i.e. a shop).

When you examine these offerings you find that the professional may support a SQL database, SSL, etc and the basic one doesn't. When you are new to website building it's difficult to decide what you need, as you're probably not sure as to what most of the terms mean anyway.

Generally, I would say that if you don't understand it then you probably don't need it; as it is very unlikely that you will ever use it. Because of the huge array of offers, it is impossible to compare them all and to make any firm recommendations.

So before you begin make sure you ask yourself these questions.

  • Why do I want a website?
  • Will I need to update the site frequently?
  • Will I sell products from the website?
  • Will I use the website to attract new customers?
  • Will the website simply be a brochure for the company?
  • What will my website visitors expect to see?
  • Will I have private parts of the site?
  • Will I publish a newsletter?
  • How much am I prepared to pay?
  • Will I be doing it myself?

Website Research

For business Websites, it is important to target the right keywords. You need to be aware of what search terms searchers will use to find the service/product that your site offers.

Building it Yourself or Outsourcing

Once you have a general idea of what you want from your website you can then move on to the second stage of deciding who will be doing what.

As with any project, you can either:

Do it Yourself or Have someone do it for you or a mixture of the two.

Generally speaking, outsourcing will mainly be considered by business website owners but is an option regardless of website type- business or personal.

Outsourcing doesn't necessarily just mean getting someone to do some work for you. It can, and often does, mean buying a package/service that does the work.

This is very common and even very experienced webmasters do this.

As an example, if you want to establish a newsletter and your host doesn't provide one or the one it provides is inadequate you can either: write one yourself or use an existing autoresponder service.

Your level of expertise and how much time you are willing to commit will determine to a great extent how much you will outsource. Generally the more technically capable you are and the more time you can devote then the more you can do yourself

MSN Messenger Is A Sweet Way To Communicate

MSN messenger is a pretty cool invention. I mean I'm not really into serious discussions on the email, answers to questions can often take a few days to arrive because people are so busy these days. I've just been 'hooked up' into Messenger and it's really a different kind of communication, quick, simplistic and even humorous with the capability to express your feelings with 'emotion' cartoons.

With Messenger you can communicate with a group of close friends or business partners instantly whenever they are at their computer. When a message is received you are informed instantly on your desktop, you don't have to be at an email site. A little box appears flashing the name of the sender, you read the message and send a reply when you've got a second free.

There's a contact list and when you go on-line, it automatically tells you who of your connections are on and off-line at that moment. If someone goes on-line after you've already been at your computer, a small box appears on your screen to tell you who are now also instantly message able. It's like the spontaneity of a telephone call but you don't even have to dial any numbers! Just log in your password and you're connected.

The huge array of smiley faces and other 'emotional' icons add another dimension to the conversations. Some of the smiley faces actually move (sticking their tongues out etc.) and there are many other symbols to express the moment. E.g.: Show a little sun when it's sunny in your neighborhood, flash a wilted rose when your love life isn't going to well, put up a black sheep when you're feeling disconnected from society. How about expressing your dream of a holiday by flashing up the tropical island icon when you're stuck in dreary office working hard on a cloudy day. They say a picture speaks a thousand words?

Well I certainly don't work for Microsoft but I guess Bill Gates and his buddies have made a few bucks because they've had a couple of good ideas. They're helping the world with their knowledge, and I reckon their MSN Messenger is another step forward in bringing the Earth together into one world. Besides the normal email format you can also have web cam and audio conversations, as well as sending files and photos instantly. It's as sweet as that first time you kissed your honey bunny, well maybe not that sweet.
The XP Firewall Isnt Enough
You might think you don't need a firewall because windows XP has one built in, but read on for a plain-english explanation why this isn't enough.

Before broadband and cable connections were common most people didn't need a personal firewall because they weren't connected to the Internet for extended periods of time.

Every computer that connects to the internet has an IP address. This is like a sort of phone number, and is issued either to an individual computer or to a "gateway" that connects a private network to the 'net.

Domestic dial-up internet connections normally use a system called Dynamic IP Addressing where people are issued with a sort of "new identity" every time they connect, so it's difficult to find and attack an individual computer - Dynamic IP addressing is a bit like having your phone number change every time you use the phone, which makes it difficult for the bad guys to find you.

But the longer you keep a particular "phone number" the more chance there is of someone finding you and that is why high-speed always-on connections need handling with care.

In particular, with "always on" DSL and cable connections you are connected for extended periods of time which give the attackers more chance of finding you if you've got an unprotected connection.

In these days of identity theft and with more and more security holes being uncovered in commercial software it is vital that you have a good firewall if you use a high-speed connection.

You may already have a firewall, either in a device called a "Broadband Router" which goes between your computer and the Internet or the very basic firewall built in to Windows XP Service Pack 2 and you might think that's all you need.

But there's another reason that you won't have thought of.

Basic firewalls will tell you, and hopefully protect you if someone is trying to get in.... but they won't tell you if something is trying to get out!

That's right! Certain spyware and viruses can gather your personal information and send it out of your machine without you knowing.

A good firewall will spot these attempts to send stuff out and will warn you, quite possibly before your Antivirus or Spyware application notices the problem. Which gives you time to get the problem fixed.

Understanding Internet Banner Advertising
Banner advertising is an effective way of getting your advertising message seen on the Internet. Banner ads should not be your only online form of advertising, but they are an essential part of your online advertising mix.

This article assumes that the reader knows what a banner ad looks like, but do you know how they work, and how you can derive benefit from them? Let's define a few terms before answering these questions.
  • 1. "Page views" or "page impressions." These terms are interchangeable and they refer to the number of times that a page within a website has been displayed on a website.
  • 2. "Banner view." Like a page view, a banner view is the number of times that a banner has been displayed on website.
  • 3. "Click through." A click through is the number of times a website visitor has "clicked" on a particular banner ad and was transferred to the website of the banner advertiser.
  • 4. "CTR." CTR is the acronym for "click through rate," which is the ratio of the number of banner view versus the number of times visitors have "clicked through" to your website. CTR is expressed as a percentage, so a click through rate of 1% means that for every 1,000 banner views, 10 visitors have clicked through to your site.
  • 5. "CPM." CPM is an acronym for "cost per M," where "M" is the ancient Roman numeral for 1,000. Translation: CPM is the price your business will pay to have its banner advertisement displayed 1,000 times on a website, e.g, the cost of 1,000 banner views. So, for example, if the CPM to advertise on a site is $80.00 your business will pay $80.00 for every 1,000 banner views.
  • 6. "ROS." ROS is the acronym for "run of site," which simply means that a banner ad is displayed on every page in a website, as opposed to being displayed only in a particular category of a website or only when a particular keyword is entered into a search engine.

Everyone who is in charge of a advertising or marketing department (that's you if you're the sole shareholder of the company) knows that advertising is, in large part, a numbers game. The more frequently your message is seen or heard, the more likely the consumer is to purchase your service or product. Take Mattress Mac with Gallery Furniture , for example. If you live in the Houston area, or if your radio can pick up the signal of almost any Houston area radio station, you cannot go a single day without hearing or seeing an advertisement for Gallery Furniture. Peppering your senses with constant reminders that "Gallery Furniture Saves You Money!" has enabled Mr. McIngvale to build his single location furniture store into an empire. (Of course, advertising alone won't do it; you still must have a quality product or service). I have no scientific data to support this assertion, but I'll make it anyway: I'm willing to bet that Gallery Furniture is known to more people in the greater Houston area than any other single business. How did that come to be? Mattress Mac understands the advertising numbers game and plays it better than anybody else.
Banner ads are a numbers game. The industry standard click through rate for online advertising in general is around .5%. Not 5%, but .5%. Doesn't sound very encouraging for your banner ad campaign, eh? Well, there are ways to significantly increase the CTR of any given banner. The best way is by targeting a particular banner ad to a narrow audience, an audience that is looking specific for a product or service just like yours. Highly-targeted can boost your CTR to as much as 2%-3% or higher and significantly increase the traffic to your website.

Another valuable purpose of the banner ad is branding. Intertwined with the messages Gallery Furniture delivers about particular sales events or types of furniture is the company's consistent and recognizable logo, color scheme, and tag lines. Your banner advertisements can, and should, perform the same function; they should be designed using your company's logo and colors, at a minimum. Sometimes incorporating the tag line is the way to go, but other times you may want to advertise a particular special offer, product, etc. The important thing is that you take advantage of the numbers game by continually displaying your name, logo, and colors. The more visitors that see you, the more they will come to associate your name with your type of product or service, and the more likely they will be in the future to buy from you.
Google Love - Five Top Tips To Make Google Love Your Site
1. Google love ...

Google and all its programming is not some form of enemy - unless you are a piece of web scum, that is.

Google is based on the idea that it should help people FIND WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR.

That's all.

Sit with the statement above. Meditate upon it if necessary. Use EFT.

But UNDERSTAND that a pointless site that has no unique content will NEVER get ANYWHERE with Googly or any other outfit that is using their techniques and methods.

You can buy books and ebooks until your wallet bleeds on "how to trick Google" this and that - just forget it.

Unless you have SOME THING that SOME PEOPLE will HONESTLY WANT and be grateful for when they find it, there is no hope and there is no point in reading any further.

Also, trying to fight Google or be cleverer somehow is pointless, distructive and the wrong attitude.

Learn to LOVE Google and work WITH IT.

If you have the contents, and you follow the most simplest common spider robot courtesy protocols, then it will come and it will index you.

It will be that mystical bridge between YOUR (customers, people, communities, friends) and your site.

That's what it does, that's what it is, that's it's nature and if you know that, then all is well.

You will get good results following the rest of this.

2. Dressing For Google ...

So now, let's have a DECENT website with DECENT content.

A decent website means:

- All the pages and directories have links that work properly and allow Google to slide with immense ease from one place to the other, without ever hitting an annoying dead end;

- All the pages are cleaned up so that you have the absolute MINIMUM of html instructions and nothing that doesn't need to be there, such as vast and pointless java scripts or the truly appalling "mso" instructions;

- All the pages have the right meta tags which ACCURATELY REFLECT what's on them, and including title, content, description, keywords at the very minimum;

- All your pages have proper headings and descriptions and content WHICH MATCHES your meta tags to a T;

- All your images are title and alt tagged CORRECTLY and resident on your own site.
Decent content means:

- Whatever you've got, it is USEFUL. If it is UNIQUE, so much the better, and that's not hard. All you need to is to be yourself and use your own words, even if you are affiliate - write your own reviews, put your own dog's picture on it, be unique, be YOURSELF.

- Whatever you've got, I'm sure there's some people who want to look at it, read it, do something with it. There's billions of people out there. Just make sure YOU KNOW WHO YOUR PEOPLE ARE and write to THEM.

- Decent content also means that what you've got is presented so that both Google and a human being get it what that is all about.

When your website is up and running, test, test and test again. Try every single hyperlink on your own computer, on someone else's and on all manner of different browsers.

Only when you are happy that it all works as it should, we go to Step 3.
3. Let Google SEE You
You need a minimum of 35 decent links going to your site for Google to take any notice of you and start paying attention.

Please be aware that "one link" is just that - www.snark.net is NOT the same as http://www.snark.net, which is not the same as http://snark.net, nor even remotely similar to any variation including http://snark.net/index.php

All, each and every ONE is viewed as a single separate link - when you need 35 ALL GOING TO ONE SINGLE ADDRESS to do the magic.

So now, to the "decent links" part.

A site that isn't indexed much by Google or doesn't turn up until page 1,993,990 on a Google search for its kind is WORTHLESS to you.

Find HIGH RANKED directory listings for your site and list your site THERE. This goes for any of the many variations on getting a link from another site, be it a guestbook signed or an article placed. Don't waste your time with anything that itself doesn't turn up on Google's own top ten.

Now, you've got a date with Google.

What we need to do next is to BUILD A RELATIONSHIP - prove our value and worth over time, in other words.

That's the next of our Google top tips - seniority and reliability.

4. Be THERE When Google Calls!
Make sure you've got a decent ISP with 99% uptime or better - that's of course elementary.
Don't ever take your site down for whatever reason and make any changes gradually.

Most importantly, get the best tracking software you can afford and find out who is already coming, and what they are coming for.

That's the key to long term success - to find what you're doing well and then expanding on it. For example, if one person came from Google (or any other search engine) for the term "snark", then build on that. Write more articles about snarks, what to do with them and without them, collect snark images - in other words, become the first port of call for any snark enquiry.

Build on your speciality some more with a web directory, guest articles, reviews and then we're more than 3/4 the way to a real web presence and Google responding to changes in your site near instantly, which is what we want.

5. Keep Improving ALL THE TIME.

The final success tip is to keep improving ALL THE TIME.
Pull up the html or php you wrote a year ago - I bet you can do better now.

Review your meta tags and your site copy and improve on both.

Name your pages, images and directories better. Improve the content, structure, navigation of your site.

Keep at it with directory listings and submissions - directories come and go, you need to be always there with the "state of the art".

Keep doing useful link exchanges with matching high ranked sites too and keep adding VALUE and UNIQUE CONTENT to your clean and well presented pages.

That's the most important thing of all - to keep at it with continuous improvement.

Follow these steps EXACTLY with a well named new site with decent content - and you WILL see immediate improvement in your Google rankings.

Good Luck and Good Spirits always,
Should You Advertise on TV?
When people discover my background in advertising, the questions flow. One of the most frequent questions is "Should I advertise on TV?"
  • I can't answer that questions until I ask a number of questions first.
  • Do you have an advertising plan?
  • Are you working on a firm budget?
  • What are you trying to accomplish with your advertising?
  • Where are you spending your money now?
Usually by the 4th question the happy face is one of disappointment.

Contractors don't build a building without a plan, and you shouldn't advertise without a plan. The first action is to determine what your advertising is to do. Most small and medium businesses do not have the bucks for long term image, so we focus on a call to action or proclaiming benefits (not features)

Can TV do that? Probably. Can you afford it? Probably not. Local TV ads even in the smallest of television markets are expensive. You can buy cheap ads, but the cost is factored to the number of viewers. The cheaper the ads, the fewer the viewers. How many folks do you know glued to the tube at 545 AM?

You can get on TV with a package of Cable Ads, but beware the number of viewers and the shoddy production. Get my article "Cable Ads 5 Bucks" by sending a blank eMail to MailTo:CableAds@BigIdeasGroup.com

Some people in business beleive you haven't "arrived" until your business is on TV and billboards. Funny, I know of hundreds of businesses making big bucks that don't use either.

Get Better Search Engine Rankings with RSS:

  • RSS is the latest craze in online publishing. But what  exactly is RSS?
  • RSS or Rich Site Syndication is a file format similar to XML, and is used by publishers to make their content available to others in a format that can be universally understood.
  • RSS allows publishers to "syndicate" their content through the distribution of lists of hyperlinks.
  • It has actually been around for a while, but with the advent of spam filters and online blogging, it is fast becoming the choice of ezine publishers who want to get their message across to their subscribers.
  • However, not much attention has been given to the advantages RSS provides for search engine optimization.

Contact an Agent: Once you have determined which type of insurance is best for you and your family, contact an agent for further guidance. If you received an acceptable life insurance quote online, follow through with it to allow an agent to contact you personally. This person will go over your policy and discuss with you the various types of companies offering coverage. If you are satisfied and want to proceed further, the agent will order a comprehensive medical exam that can be done in the convenience of your home or office at no charge to you! About four to six weeks later the results will be in and if all goes well, coverage will begin almost immediately thereafter. At no point are you obligated to accept coverage until you sign a contract.

More Savings: Do you want to save even more money? Pay the premium all at once. Monthly or quarterly payments usually carry a surcharge. By paying the entire premium in advance you can save around 5%.

Providing for family members after your death is one of the most important reasons to include life insurance as part of your financial planning.

7 Sure-fire Ways of Reducing Your Home Insurance Premium
All insurance companies will happily offer you a discount for burglar alarms and smoke detectors. Homes with fire and burglar alarms that communicate with a third party monitoring company receive a higher discount on their insurance premiums.
  • When possible, choose a higher deductible:
To reduce your premium, it is best advised to increase the deductible to the extent you can afford. Your home insurance premium will fall by as much as 20% if you increase the deductible from $200 to $1000.
  • Multiple insurance ? Same provider:
If you consolidate your home insurance and auto insurance with one insurance company, expect a premium reduction between 10 ? 15%. This also means you are making one payment for all your insurance needs. Consolidate and win.
  • Discount for non-smokers:
Some home insurance companies will offer a non-smoker discount to the tune of 15%. Check with your insurance company if they offer a non-smokers discount.

  • How far is the fire station?
If you live more than 5 miles from the nearest fire station and more than 1,000 feet from a fire hydrant, you can expect a higher premium. Also if you live in the country, you will probably pay higher insurance rate than if you were living in the city.
  • Type of construction:
The construction type of your home also plays an important role in determining your insurance premium. A wood frame home will cost more to insure than the one built mostly of concrete.
  • Claims free record and renewal discounts:
If you have not had a claim under your current home owners policy for the past 3-5 years, you will get a 15% discount on your premium. Expect additional discount if your policy has been in force with the same insurance company for 3 years or more.
Conclusion:
I am hopeful you have gained preliminary knowledge on the subject of home insurance premiums. With these helpful tips you will be able to understand and demand discounts on your home insurance premiums. Good Luck!

Information About Plasma TV
I am going to try and simply explain to you about Plasma Televisions (TV) Information. Hopefully I can guide you with enough information about Plasma TVs that you can confidently walk into a shop and know what you want to buy.

  • Basics Information For  Plasma TV

  • A plasma television is a flat panel television which displays light (and therefore images) by using phosphors. The phosphors are trapped between two thin panels of glass and are triggered by a gas discharge made up fro non harmful Noble Gases. Plasma displays should not be confused with LCDs, another lightweight flatscreen display using different technology.

Plasma TV offer a variable sized screen area that provides excellent quality picture or image, with minimal distortion (An advantage over rear projection!) There are many plasma screen televisions on the market and currently it is vying with LCD to be the market no.1

  • More Information Plasma TV

  • Most of Plasma TV's screen are start at 42 inch (107cm) in diagonal size and go upwards to around 65 inch (Biggest I have seen!). Large display screen size makes them perfect for any home use or even that garage theatre you have dreamt about.

On Plasma TV, Color reproduction is excellent and the “darkroom” contrast can ensure your display shows the “perfect” black. The Plasma TV can perform well under any lighting, whether it be electrical light or natural light, Even the external brightness will not distort the display of image quality. (So you don’t have to turn the lights off for that scary movie!!)

Each pixel is made up of three fluorescent lights such as a red light, a green light and a blue light. The plasma display varies the intensities of the different lights to produce a full range of colors. Every pixel displayed on the Plasma TV's screen is individually lit, this means the display is always full of colour and can be viewed at any angle by the user.

The Plasma television units are never more than 10cm thick, meaning you can position your plasma TV just about anywhere in your house. A plasma display is a television monitor, capable of displaying HDTV, regular TV, and home video. It's also a computer monitor. In fact, it can accept any video format. Plasma displays typically include inputs for (a) composite video, (b) S-video and component video, and (c) one or more RGB inputs from a computer.

  • Display of Plasma TV

  • Plasma displays have lower total resolution than LCD displays. These units are not as economical as an LCD one. Plasma televisions use approx same as old CRT units. Plasma units are still quite pricey, although in current economic climate, prices are dropping all the time.

Plasma screens have a “shelf life”. You can expect to use your plasma display in many capacities and for many years: The average lifespan of one of these displays is 30,000 hours. That's about 3.5 years of 24/7 usage! If watching TV was your full-time job, and you did it for 8 hours a day, it would take you more than a decade to wear out your plasma TV display.

Dead pixels may become an issue with Plasma. If Plasma TV's screen is left on pause position for a long time, any logos or prominent images on that show may become “burnt” onto the display. On this case it will cause the logo always appear everytime you watch the TV. So, be careful not to leave your plasma TV on pause for too long!

Plasma displays are much more fragile than a normal television; You should handle with special care. When mounting your plasma television on the wall, please take care to get reinforced supports as the weight is more than that of an LCD unit.

Beginners Tips How to Use Plasma TV :
    1. When hanging a TV above fireplace, ensure the ambient temperature is not more than 80 degrees as you may damage the display.
    2. Don’t leave tv shows on pause for too long, we don’t want the “burning” effect explained above.
    3. With early plasma displays, it is advised, for best picture, to view the image from approx 10 foot away. With newer models it is less as resolution has improved.
Why Javascript Feeds Are Not Effective

    • Some sites offer javascript code that generates content sourced from RSS feeds for your site.

    • These are of absolutely no value in terms of search engine rankings, as the googlebot cannot read javascript and the content is not interpreted as part of your page.

    • What you need is code that parses the RSS feed and renders the feed as html content that's part of your page.

    • This is achieved using server side scripting languages like PHP or ASP.
