LEMON FOR HEALTH AND BEAUTY

                Lemon is an oval citrus fruit with an acid pulp. Other citrus fruits are citron, orange, lime, etc. These fruits and lemon owe their sourness to the citric acid which they contain. Lime is a small greenish-yellow fruit.

                The citrus fruits have good many uses.

                Lemon which is found in every Indian household has a variety of uses in the kitchen. It is useful on health grounds and as beauty aid too.

                Citrus fruits like lemon generally grow on the sunny, sandy coasts of the Mediterranean Sea.

                In the 3rd century B.C. Lemon was introduced to Europe and West Asia by the Romans and the Arab traders.

                Lemon is widely used as health aid. It contains vitamin C, Potassium and Calcium and is free of calories and fat.

                Lemon stimulates blood circulation, reduces arterial pressure, activates bile ( a thick fluid in the liver) and produces a general feeling of well-being.

                If you suffer from indigestion, cut a lemon in two halves. Sprinkle salt and black pepper on one half and suck it slowly. It will bring quick relief.



                Lemon is a good cough reliever. It is useful during pregnancy.

                Lemon protects us from scurvy, a disease due to lack of fresh fruits and vegetables (vitamin C deficiency).

                Lemon is the main ingredient in juices, sherbets, squashes, pickles, etc., It is also a flavoring and souring agent in salads, marinades and other dishes.

                Lemon juice is a valuable aid for reducing your weight. Start the day with the juice of half a lemon mixed with a glass of warm water sweetened with honey.

                During summer a thirsty person should drink a full glass of chilled lemon sherbet. Iced lemon tea is also a welcome drink in summer.

                In industry, lemon is an ingredient in the manufacture of citric acid, pectin and lemon oil.

                Many modern cosmetics use lemon as an essential ingredient. It is an indispensable beauty aid for skin, hair, hands, feet, body, etc,.



                Lime juice can be used to brighten complexion. It should not be applied directly on the face. Always mix it with something before applying it on the face. For example with lime juice add flour, milk cream, and honey for oily skin.
                Lime juice is very cooling and can be applied on the scalp for reducing body heat.

If you take honey and lemon, both mixtures of them, then it will reduce the obesity of your body and will help in cleaning the toxins and aid digestion. Lemon juice can works on skin as a cleanser too. Applying on hair mixed with honey and yoghurt can relief the dandruff. Mental strength could be sharp and stress could be release. Those women who have freckles and age spots so they must apply it on their face, hold lemon slice on the effected area with almost 15 minutes and wash off the lemon. Do this everyday. Your face will be clean and soften. Always use fresh lemon juice. Do not apply it on any cut on your skin. Don’t go outside into the sunlight, while applying lemon juice. If you want to see your face shiny and healthy then apply lemon juice daily overnight and rinse it early in the morning. You will get surprising effects. Lemon is full of vitamin C so always use it for your skin.
